About the Professor:
Professor Ortiz received her B.A. with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she served as the Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review. Prior to teaching full time, Professor Ortiz practiced law with the Austin offices of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue and Baker Botts L.L.P. She also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law. In 1996, Professor Ortiz joined the full-time faculty of South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Her teaching and research interests include property, land use, environmental law, and natural resources. Professor Ortiz has published a variety of property and land-use related articles which have appeared in some of the leading law reviews in the country.
